Other families, neighbours always had the better stuffs,
better houses and furniture, better electronics and gadgets while ours, 'antiques'
they even had better cars compared to ours, but ours did get us around.
Other parents had better occupation and could afford the better schools for their kids, buy them better school bags, launch boxes and even better toys.
In our case, we managed what we had.
Hey, I was envious of them, it churned hard in my stomach.
Was it envy or jealousy then, I can't really say because I wanted such luxury.
But now I do realize, the reason I didn't have such and that what I did have was the best for me, so I will be the best of me.
In life, people ain't the same and it's always for a reason that is greater than us all.
As humans, the evil in our desires is not in the fact that we want something but in the fact that we want it too much.
We really ought to know the difference between our WANTS and our NEEDS.

10th August, 2005 (01:18am)
Well, you won't believe it but this is the first write up I've ever consciously written.
it's a sort of reunion tale after a short while of separation between a lady and myself, it goes thus;
it was as if yesterday would never come
and now it has come and gone
but the memories it brought along, will remain
significant each day for real
the thing about yesterday is
I saw her again after a short while
but if that short while were forever
how Will eternity be?
finally, my heart is relieved from the aches of missing you
just yesterday my glow was restored
standing right in front of me
oh! that sight to behold
a smile so flawless
beauty so priceless
the look on her face, reassuring
I saw blue skies just yesterday
gray skies I wish to see no more
because I saw them each day until yesterday
blue skies I wish to see from now on
if wishes were horses, men will ride even on chariots
fact remains,
at least we've been together from yesterday on
sadly the skies didn't stay blue each day
even as it was that yesterday when I saw her
my memorable yesterday.
It's funny sometimes how we recollect memorable times of our life and its funny how these memorable times don't ever last as long as they ought to... forever.
Hey, I'll always savour the best of times while they last. You should try that out too

my last day of I.T.
Wow, unbelievable!!! I left home since May and I've been in Jos (Plateau State) working with the National Centre for Remote Sensing (NCRS) for my I.T. (Industrial Attachment)
The experience of being away from home for the very first time in my life has been great and worth the while. I also got the opportunity to explore other parts of the state, it's a great town, 'home of tourism' as they say.
Anyway, finally, I'm through, I can't believe it's been six good months away from home.
But the thought of going back to lectures, classes, study and all the school wahala is something I'm not looking forward to at all, hey, don't blame me, the office experience has really spoilt me and I know it'll take a while for me to re-adjust to the usual 'school' thing.
Truly, I've had time for my personal development and lots of challenges I had to face have definitely transformed me from that boy they know to a man
But then, what needs to be done must be done... I can't wait to graduate! School, here I come with real fire!!!

Did you Know?
One of the most beautiful pictures of the planet Earth that has ever been made was from outer space. It shows the Earth as a tiny, colorful ball. all around it was the darkness and emptiness of space.
It was a beautiful picture. Nothing in it was broken up into different colors and people were not divided into races. It was just one single world, a place where we all live.
If we want to, we can wipe out all the differences that we now have in the world. These are divisions between love and hatred, poverty and riches, war and peace, the black and white and between those who have too much and those who have nothing. We can have the power to change into what that picture of the world shows into a beautiful, united and nearly perfect world.
We only need the will

Deep Abys
He walks alone, hands in his pockets
with his gaze fixed in no particular place on the ground
it seems He's lost in deep thoughts
with short steps walking slow leaving only footprints behind
what troubles he must have on his mind
no expressions whatsoever on his long face as he walks on
in no particular direction he wonders on and on
he's definitely lost deep down trying to cross the road,
he looks left and right, looking left again to be sure
suddenly time stops, Hearst's beating fast now
from onlookers and passers by as blood is spilled on asphalt and metal
from an incident that tore flesh and bone
can he still be alive? he's gasping to breathe
he's still alive
as he stands and walks away from this scene he's just witnessed

last weekend... 20th October
yes, I wouldn't have missed it for earthly treasures; the YDI Possibility Conference off course! held at the Hossana Cristian Centre Wuse2 Abuja...
it was a mind blowing experience to be among dignitaries from around the world who represent a new order.
Pastor Joe Jessimiel Ogbe, Founder and International President of YDI. My father in the Lord
well, aside that, i had the opportunity to meet with YDI friends from Lagos and around the country. it's actually been a while we last saw since the major opportunity we have to meet is at Camp Joseph every year.
I was also able to lay my hands on a book "Shortly after High School" by Gbenga Fatogun a member of YDI whose prior books have been a major inspiration to me.

we all need to...
we all need time to grow
space to show,
but do we really know if we should go fast or slow?
we all need time to mature
so we can fervently nurture,
the amazing gifts of nature even with steps of which we're not so sure
we all need to feel pain
so that through life's journey,
there's something to retain as sincerity with efforts doesn't really end in vain
we all need to know our stand
even as we shudder at falling through quick sand,
to reach out for any hand yet the cry from inside we don't want to understand
we all need to retrace
hence to pick up pace,
not really by being in haste so in the end we all can wear a happy face

Her Life
she was full of strength and valor
living life to the fullest
with no regrets till now
a moment of pleasure stole her splendor
and painted her with guilt and shame
her present condition has made her vulnerable
making it tough for her to handle the squabble
what has she done?
a question she has to answer
a prominent part of her body is enlarging
growing in size as the days go passing
she's just sixteen and completely unprepared
to make a decision to suit her demise
her partner of pleasure has denied responsibility
he's only eighteen and must save his life's tranquility
either keep it or kill it
she can barely decide
her parents are blowing the issue out of proportion
making her choice to lean towards the later
she's torn between two choices...
(to be continued)
